The following are descriptions of some of the participants at the Festival
Nazareno Anniballo
Breve profilo (semiserio, se vuoi, ma veritiero):
Nazareno Anniballo nasce a Benevento il 10 giugno 1962, compie studi scientifici sin quasi alla soglia della sua laurea in Ingegneria Elettronica, mai abbandonata né tantomeno, ancor oggi, conseguita.
Ex collaboratore di una rivista quindicinale, ex studente, ex animatore d’infanzia, ex informatico, ex imprenditore, ex eterno Peter Pan, ex chi più ne ha più ne metta…
Oggi vive e lavora a progetto (come tanti, ahimè…) in Toscana; scrive part time ma avrebbe voglia di farlo a tempo pieno, se questo gli consentisse di vivere.
Polemico, dal carattere difficile, curioso e diffidente per natura, ma sempre pronto a tuffarsi a capofitto in una nuova impresa in cui crede, anche a rischio di uscirne con le ossa rotte... Alle spalle una vita sentimentale burrascosa, tanti cambiamenti di rotta e progetti mai terminati. Amante della buona cucina (meglio se in ottima compagnia) e delle tradizioni culturali e musicali regionali; appassionato di restauro e sostenitore che l’aria migliore la respira a cavallo della sua “rossa a due ruote”.
Se fosse qualcosa? Sarebbe una promessa non mantenuta, sostiene.
Autore di un breve romanzo dal titolo: “Ho trovato una risposta…”pubblicato da Edizioni Creativa nel dicembre 2005… Ci assicura che non sarà l’ultimo.
Nelle sue intenzioni completare un saggio sulla prima guerra mondiale e magari laurearsi prima di diventar troppo vecchio.
Jens Christensen
Born in 1944. Chartered surveyor, Ph.D., Dr. of Science. Associate professor, Department of Development and Planning, Aalborg University, Denmark. Member of the research group ‘Theory of Knowledge, Engineering Education and Organisational Learning’, the research group ‘Geography’, the ‘Centre of Philosophy and Theory of Knowledge’, Aalborg University.
Research area:
Theory of knowledge and view of nature, among others including;
- existential issues embedded in and influencing social and technological practise (for instance relationships between freedom and concordance versus power and alienation);
- the question of ‘how to deal with complexity?’, especially related to integrative geography;
- truth and meaning, related to a problem-oriented approach to learning and knowing.
The issues of the research are perceived in relevant contexts, among others a cultural and historical context.
Lorenzo Ciapetti
1st profile: researcher
Lorenzo Ciapetti is a researcher on industrial economics and teaches a course on local economic development at the University of Bologna, Forlì campus. Lorenzo is the scientific coordinator of Antares, a non-profit spin-off research unit of the University of Bologna in Forlì, focusing on analysis of local competitiveness and SME’s systems development. Lorenzo, holds a Graduate degree in Industrial development from the University of Ferrara and has been an International Urban Fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, US where has conducted, as principal investigator, a comparative study on the role of universities and the implications of tech-based development between localities in USA and Italy.
2nd profile: movie amateur
Lorenzo Ciapetti has not abandoned his career of researcher over the preparation for this festival. Simply, he loves movies and the extraordinary communication potential that movies carry with them (even in the realms of sociology, politics and why not economics). As an “amateur” approaching this art, Lorenzo has decided to contribute some insight and knowledge on recent movies to the movie debate of the festival.
John Connell
John found Dance more by accident than design, and now, having over 25 years of Dance teaching experience in schools, recognises this subject as offering infinite opportunities for personal development. John, at the present time, is the subject strand leader for Dance and Director of study for external and collaborative programmes at the University of Birmingham. Prior to this, he established, as Senior Lecturer in Dance Education, the Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) Dance Course at Middlesex University, and became the PGCE Professional Studies Course Coordinator. Through his Dance Company “Images in Motion”, John still teaches and supports the development of Dance at all levels, presenting participants with the opportunity to develop their individual creativity in an intellectual, fun and physical way. John has many areas of interest in Dance, but fundamental to the attainment of his Doctorate is his specific focus on pedagogy.
Elena Consorti
Studentessa all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Urbino, alle prese con le mie prime mostre e prossima alla laurea, ho dato inizio alla mia “carriera” d’artista dipingendo elfi, folletti, fate e poche altre forme di vita ugualmente concrete.
Da un paio d’anni mi interesso di fumetti manga, dai quali estrapolo i personaggi che maggiormente mi affascinano per riprodurli sulla tela, immersi in colori che siano il più possibile luminosi.
Da sempre appassionata di fotografia, pongo al centro dei miei scatti soprattutto i bambini, nella loro innocenza violata e dissacrata.
Al momento sto scrivendo la mia tesi di laurea che riguarda l’arte estrema
DANAE
DANAE è un’Associazione di Scrittori non ancora famosi, ma anche di Librai innamorati del proprio mestiere, e di onesti Editori che hanno deciso di mettere insieme i propri sforzi per spezzare il circolo vizioso dell’editoria italiana che esclude gli Autori esordienti, anche quelli bravi, prima dalla grande editoria, poi dalla distribuzione, ed infine dal pubblico dei Lettori. DANAE si interessa della vendita dei Libri dei propri Soci per mezzo di diversi canali: attraverso il proprio sito, attraverso una rete fidata di ottime Librerie che hanno deciso di accettare in deposito i nostri libri, e partecipando con un proprio stand alle più importanti manifestazioni e fiere del Libro in tutta Italia. Ma DANAE si occupa anche in prima persona anche della promozione di questi volumi, realizzando a proprie spese tanto materiale promozionale, a partire dalla rivista DANAE Magazine, che viene distribuita gratuitamente presso le nostre Librerie e a chiunque effettua acquisti on-line attraverso il nostro sito ed organizzando o partecipando con Autori ed Editori a serate di presentazione ed eventi culturali. Nessuno può pensare di spezzare da solo questo circolo, ma mettendo insieme le energie di ognuno, DANAE si sta lentamente creando il suo spazio nelle Librerie del nostro Paese e, soprattutto, nel cuore dei propri Lettori.
Stephan Duve (MWC)
E’ esperienza comune a tutti gli artisti, i creativi, e gli organizzatori culturali in genere, che le nuove idee hanno un proprio mercato.
Che si tratti di un originale design, di una istallazione artistica, di una idea pubblicitaria, il prodotto culturale di qualità, si vende.
E siamo tutti pronti a riconoscere che le nuove idee sono la sostanza del cambiamento e del progresso in ogni campo. E del successo, anche!
Niente di strano, quindi, che i soldi per le buone idee si trovino.
Assai più difficile è trovare i soldi per favorire la generazione di nuove idee. Basta questo semplice salto di livello logico e subito saltano anche le categorie dell’utilità e del valore. Quanto vale la capacità di generare un’idea? E di che valore si tratta? ….
Sembrano così ovvie le intuizioni geniali…dopo!
La capacità di generare soluzioni creative nasce al di fuori del dominio del calcolo, nella ricchezza, varietà e flessibilità dell’esperienza, degli incontri e dei contatti. Nasce nella formazione libera e artistica che sfida i clichè, i codici, le mode.

In all fields of publicity, original design conception, and in any high-quality cultural product the brainwave achieves the highest price.
Ideas are the cutting edge of cutting edge technology, the substance of change and success.
No wonder, then, that money finds its way towards the powerful ideas!
How strange then the big difficulty in finding the funds and the right stuff for the good-ideas-people-generator. Just by going back one logical step we find all has changed, usefulness and value are beyond recognition!
It’s only when the genial idea has hit us that we slap our forehead: how obvious it is …afterwards!
The generator where the ability to create comes from stands far away from all calculation and accountability; it is surrounded by richness, variety and flexibility of experience, people meeting each other and a wide range of contacts. It is a place of free and artistic education that challenges clichés, codes of practice and fashion. It is a mix of playground, laboratories, meeting places, hands-on museum, test centre and library.

Raffaella Garavini
è nata a Gorizia nel 1978,
conclusi i suoi studi artistici nel 2001, prima al liceo artistico e
successivamente all'Accademia delle Belle Arti di Bologna, attualmente vive e
lavora nel territorio cesenate.
La sua ricerca si sviluppa sull'asse della comunicazione verbo visuale, il linguaggio si unisce al segno disegnato o fotografato.
Dipendentemente dal messaggio che l'opera porta utilizza tecniche differenti, dall'installazione, alla fotografia fino all'illustrazione.

Anthony N. Karbo
Anthony N. Karbo is the Executive Director of Redkan Foundation Ghana, a Non-Governmental Organisation, working towards poverty reduction, education, health and agriculture in the rural communities in the Northern regions of Ghana, with an overall mission of advocating for total grassroots participation in the socio-economic development of deprived societies.

Alan Mahar
Alan Mahar is Publishing Director of the independent fiction publisher, Tindal Street Press, Birmingham's publisher of contemporary regional writing, established in 1998 and based at the Custard Factory in the city centre. He is also a fiction writer, with two novels Flight Patterns (Gollancz 1998) and After the Man Before (Methuen 2002) to his name, and awarded an Arts Council Writers Award in 2002. His book reviews and short stories have been published nationally. In addition to his publishing work, he also teaches Creative Writing and English at Solihull College and University of Central England. Born in Liverpool, he settled in Birmingham in 1976 and became a writer-in-residence in the inner city area of Balsall Heath, where he worked with old people and children and set up a writers group, Tindal Street Fiction Group in 1983, which still thrives today. He lives in Moseley, Birmingham with his wife, an art teacher and two daughters, both at university. Tindal Street Press Ltd, part-funded by Arts Council England (West Midlands) and Birmingham City Council, has published more than 30 new works of fiction, novels and collections of stories, eight of which have been shortlisted for national literary awards, notably Clare Morrall's Astonishing Splashes of Colour, shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize 2003 and translated into ten languages. The latest novel from Tindal Street Press, What Was Lost by Birmingham, by Catherine O'Flynn, and set in a Dudley shopping centre, has just been chosen as BBC Radio 5 Book of the Month and longlisted for the prestigious Orange Broadband Prize 2007.
Luca Masini
Luca Masini nasce a Firenze nel 1971. Attualmente vive a Montelupo Fiorentino in una casa popolata di libri.
Le sue grandi passioni sono la lettura (gran parte libri gialli) e la musica.
Ha quattro grandi sogni: ottenere nel giro di cinque anni il successo di Federico Moccia, fare di un suo romanzo un film oppure fiction televisiva, lavorare in una radio fiorentina (magari come tecnico di regia) e incontrare la cantante Laura Pausini.
Naturalmente fare un bel quattordici al Totocalcio.
L’elenco della sua produzione letteraria è ancora abbastanza corto, ma spera di allungarlo nel giro dei prossimi anni.

Francesco Sacchetti
Francesco Sacchetti nasce a Cesena il 15 dicembre 1978, si diploma con sofferenza in ragioneria dopodiché consegue a pieni voti una laurea triennale in sociologia e una magistrale in metodologia della ricerca empirica. Al momento è dottorando di ricerca in metodologia delle scienze sociali all’università di Firenze.
Sin dall’infanzia vive di sogni e mondi fantastici e, diventato adolescente, non gli piace affatto studiare il modo di tenere una partita doppia… Al ritorno da un viaggio in Spagna in auto con due amici decide di iscriversi all’università e finalmente scopre il piacere dello studio non imposto.
Da sempre le realtà diverse dalla sua lo affascinano enormemente e lo spingono a porsi domande, a voler comprendere il punto di vista dell’altro e il contesto che lo circonda. Questo lo ha portato a prediligere nel suo lavoro tecniche di ricerca qualitative.
Nel 2006 ha compiuto una ricerca etnografica presso la comunità dei Mutoids a Santarcangelo di Romagna. Al momento ha diverse ricerche in corso e sta lavorando a un articolo sul Going Native.
Silvia Sacchetti
Silvia
Sacchetti is a lecturer at the Business School, the University of
Birmingham. Her research interests are in the field of the organisation
of production, theory
of the firm, knowledge and creativity, economic democracy and local
development. She addresses these issues from an institutionalist
perspective,
focusing on the relationships between:
i. the governance of production systems and networks,
ii. learning and the production of knowledge,
iii. the unfolding of creativity and critical thinking across
local economic systems,
iv. the development of economic systems based on deliberative
democracy.
Stefano Sterbini
Stefano Sterbini si è diplomato presso il Liceo Classico Giuseppe Mazzini di Sampierdarena proseguendo i suoi studi con spirito da autodidatta; nell’anno 2000 fonda la Compagnia Teatrale “I Guidattori”, un’ originale iniziativa volta alla valorizzazione turistico-culturale di castelli, centri storici, siti archeologici tramite la realizzazione di surreali itinerari drammaturgici in cui confluiscono numerose forme d’espressione artistica quali la poesia, la danza, la musica, il teatro e la pittura.
Sterbini prosegue la sua attività letteraria pubblicando alcuni brevi racconti nel contesto di un’antologia letteraria dedicata agli scrittori emergenti ed edita dalla Sovera Editrice; dopo aver ottenuto diversi riconoscimenti nell’ambito di diversi premi letterari, nel passato più recente si aggiudica il terzo posto nel prestigioso Premio Internazionale di Poesia “Poseidonia-Paestum” 2005. Attualmente ricopre il ruolo di organizzatore degli eventi all’interno dell’Associazione DANAE.
Lara Strada
Nata nel 1967 da una famiglia operaia, con una lunga tradizione di lotte politiche alle spalle, frequenta il liceo linguistico con ottimi risultati. La solitudine comunicativa con i coetanei negli anni ’80, fanno sentire con forza lo scarto tra la vita reale e il mondo scolastico, parzialmente colmato dall’affetto di Alessandro. Nel 1988 nasce la prima figlia Nicole. Alessandro lavora come falegname, Lara abbandona gli studi per inserirsi nel mondo del lavoro come impiegata. Lavora quindi presso L’Università degli Adulti e intanto si iscrive alla facoltà di Lingue. Abbandona il lavoro per aiutare il marito presso un distributore di benzina. Anche questo lavoro non soddisfa Alessandro che cambia svariati lavori. Lara dà lezioni private di lingue e di italiano, fa traduzioni e entra nella redazione della rivista letteraria TRATTI, fogli di letteratura e grafica da una provincia dell’impero. Dagli amici della redazione viene incoraggiata a pubblicare le prime poesie, alcune delle quali vengono segnalate o premiate a concorsi. Il marito diventa quindi gestore di un circolo ARCI dove organizzano incontri musicali e letterari e piccole mostre. Nel frattempo Alessandro inizia a scolpire il legno. Avendo abitato sempre in affitto, tra mille difficoltà economiche, si dedica alla ristrutturazione di una vecchia casa nell’antico borgo di Valdinoce e nel 2003 nasce la seconda figlia Camilla. La morte improvvisa di Alessandro nel 2005 congela tutti i progetti avviati. A novembre dello stesso anno Lara pubblica la sua prima raccolta di poesie con le fotografie delle sculture di Alessandro.
Roger Sugden
Since 1995 Roger Sugden has been a Professor of Commerce at the
Birmingham Business School, the University of Birmingham. He is the
Director of the Institute
for Economic Development Policy.
Roger has been playing leading roles in international research and
learning
projects since the early 1990s. He was Coordinator for inter-related
Network
and Euroconferences initiatives under the European Commission’s
Human Capital
and Mobility Programme. They led to the creation of the European
Network on
Industrial Policy (EUNIP), of which Roger Sugden was founding
coordinator and
in which he continues to play a prominent role. They also led to the
creation
of L’institute, a multinational joint venture between the
Universities of
Birmingham, Ferrara and Wisconsin-Milwaukee (US); Roger Sugden was
co-founder
and Director of L’institute (which was designed to pursue
multinational
networking in the subject of public policy and the development of
economies in
Europe, the Americas and Asia). In addition, he has been a Coordinator
and
Principal Scientist in other European Commission projects and, for
example, was
Coordinator of projects funded by the British Council (Argentina) and
British Embassy (Buenos Aires) to support the European/Mercosur Network
on Industrial
Economic Strategy. Most recently, Roger Sugden has been co-convenor of
a
European Science Foundation Exploratory Workshop (held in San
Sebastian, Spain, November 2005).
Roger has taught and given research seminars in various countries,
including Argentina, Chile, China, Finland, Germany, Italy, Nicaragua,
Spain and the US.
Roger’s research interests include: the economic theory of the firm; the nature and impact of transnational corporations; the economics of small firms, networks and multinationalism; the rationale for and instruments of public policy; perspectives on economic development; globalisation; education and health processes; communication and economic development; and economic democracy. Among his publications, a series of contributions that establish and develop a strategic decision-making perspective on the theory and impact of firms/organisations, hence on economic development.

Valania
Marcela Valania has a degree in English as a Foreign Language and works
at the Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham. She
manages and supports international
networking, focusing on the organisation of seminars, conferences,
workshops,
research projects, graduate schools, and short courses.
James Wilson
James Wilson is a lecturer at the Business School, the University of Birmingham. His main research interests are in the areas of economic development and economic development policy, in particular the interface between business and the development of economies. He is interested in alternative approaches to development that centre on the governance of economic processes, incorporating analysis of the contribution of firms. This starting point informs his research into more specific issues such as globalisation, privatisation, the dynamics of firm clusters, and also into specific country contexts, where he has a particular interest in South Africa and in Latin American economies.

Zandonai, sociologo, collabora con varie istituzioni
del mondo della ricerca, formazione e consulenza del settore nonprofit e
